he ASTD Global Network South Africa has officially enjoyed its 10th birthday this year in 2012 as one of the few approved Global Network countries outside the USA. Pictured above, a plaque is handed to myself (centre) and Juanita Probart by Rick McCarthy (right) on behalf of the ASTD International, who were unable to attend the 8th Annual Local International Conference in the Drakensberg during March 2012.
The plaque was a tribute to the founders of ASTD in South Africa and the fact that I have been fortunate enough to have attended 24 International ASTD Conferences in the past, and have led many delegations to the USA for these annual conferences. This year our group leaves for Denver Colorado on 3rd May. We will be providing feedback to local members on latest trends in Human Resource Development when we return. The local chapter is supported by 16 Advisory Board members representing all major sectors of the economy, many of whom attended the Drakensberg conference.
