Celebrations!
The roller coaster years of the onboard industry are celebrated in our 50th issue with a series of interviews, reflections and predictions from leading experts. We also celebrate by distributing our biggest issue yet at the World Travel
Catering Expo & OnBoard Services Expo and Aircraft Interiors in Hamburg, featuring a complete exhibitor guide and floorplan (see page 79). The results of a recent survey of 1000 business travellers at the Business Travel Show in London make good reading and reveal a pining for the golden age of flying. Business travellers want back the opulent days of the onboard bar, Champagne and elegant dining. So while we all strive to be ‘sensible’ in these days of financial pressure and constant connectivity, let’s also give a little thought to the fun side of air travel. Fun was had by all at the TravelPlus 2011 Airline Amenity Awards last month when airlines and suppliers from around the world met in London to receive their awards for innovation, elegance, emotion and the environment. (see page 58) The OnBoard team looks forward to meeting up in Hamburg where our
very own Jeremy will be hosting a culinary showcase in the Taste of Travel Theatre. The event promises to please the crowds and will serve as some light entertainment before the hard work begins (see page 17). See you there!
