Aaron Hammer Newly promoted to senior manager, food services customer service, Aaron Hammer originally joined Continental Airlines
in 2007 as a business process manager in the Houston kitchen. Prior to joining Continental, Aaron worked in various food-related operations, including food and beverage manager for Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. Aaron will be responsible for providing customer service to the outside accounts catered by the carrier’s six Chelsea locations. He and his team will manage customer communication, quality and operational performance and financial modelling.
Emeraude Classic Cruises Anne Sadang Vietnam-based Emeraude Classic Cruises has appointed Anne Sadang as its vessel’s chief purser. Onboard, Anne’s
responsibilities include management of food and beverage, guest relations and housekeeping. A Filipino, Anne’s work in the hospitality field has mostly focused on restaurants, resorts and golf courses in the Philippines. Sadang commented on her new role: “The Emeraude is a whole new adventure for me, much more than a job.”
Bahrain Airport Services George Saounatsos Starting as the new ceo at BAS in October, George Saounatsos brings a wealth of experience to the role, having clocked
up nearly 20 years’ experience through managerial, operational and engineering positions with AIRBUS and the A380 Programme, Vancouver Airport Services and the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority, amongst others. Saounatsos said: “I look forward to driving the vision of the company and enhancing creativity and innovation.”
Global Inflight Products (GIP) Christine Contant Recently appointed general manager of GIP is Christine Conant. GIP ceo Lisa Benzaoui commented: “Her
role will focus on strategic developments of GIP through relationship development with customers, sales growth and marketing.” Christine has experience in the entrepreneurial world providing strategic visions, building successful teams, launching innovative new products and coordinating business activities.
Paulina White Joining as the lead creative design manager, Paulina White has experience as an industrial designer in Japan,
France, Finland and Mexico, plus high-end brand expertise in various industries – including fashion and cosmetics. Paulina’s awareness of trends in styles, materials and colours as well as her knowledge of product and graphic design make her a valuable addition to GIP.
Flughafen München GmbH (FMG)
Dr. Markus Söder The Supervisory Board of FMG, the Munich Airport operating company, has elected a new chairman, Dr. Markus Söder, the Bavarian finance minister, who was chosen to succeed the departing chairman Georg Fahrenschon. Georg has headed the Supervisory Board since December 2008 in his capacity as Bavarian finance minister.
Heinrich Birner The Munich district managing director of the ver.di trade union, has been elected deputy chairman. Heinrich has been a member of the FMG Supervisory Board since 1996.
Garuda Support Lou John D’Alessio Recently appointed vp of Garuda Support, Lou John D’Alessio’s role is to deliver quality in-flight logistics management services,
in-food equipment handling, cabin services and supplies, dry goods, beverages and reading material distribution. D’Alessio most recently worked as regional manager for ALPHA Flight Services in Melbourne and prior to that, was manager of inflight product development for Qatar Airways. He has also filled various roles in food and beverage management for other airlines and airline providers.
