EVERYBODY DESERVES A HYBRITE

Following the successful launch of its stylish Hybrite trolleys last year, Driessen-Zodiac Aerospace is launching a new ultra lightweight and stylish container line. The Hybrite trolley was not only awarded by the Reddot Organisation but has taken record orders from airlines worldwide.

THE HYBRITE CONTAINER The Hybrite container is a stylish ‘design container’ for storage and catering on aircraft for mobile storage of food, beverages and condiments in the galleys. Its unique qualities can be summed up in three ways:

DESIGN

Driessen has been working on the design at its headquarters in the Netherlands since early 2011. The design is very much the result of customer demand and the main considerations were: a modern look and feel; light weight; easy maintainence; durability; improved ergonomics and crew appreciation.

Bringing all this together was an interesting journey, especially as we had a time scale of under 12 months. Customer trials have received enthusiastic response and production of the first batches will start in April 2012. We have already received an order as sole Supplier Furnished Equipment (SFE) for a new extra-wide body aircraft.

The new design offers improved stackability, durability and maintainability, and a new slam latch has been developed in close cooperation with airline crew for easy opening and closing. The handles and lock of the Hybrite container are composite while the body is aluminum. Other design elements include recessed panels, integrated hinges and rounded corners. The flush top handle ensures less dents when stacking and stackable ribs ensure stability.

STYLE

More often than not, containers are the first items a passenger sees when boarding a plane and as first impressions count a great deal we transformed the design of our new Hybrite container into a modern, stylish cabin accessory.

The front door of the container has a stylish panel, rounded corners and a smooth surface. It can be powercoated in any colour and can be used for branding by airlines to portray any image they want.

EVOLUTION

In line with the Hybrite trolleys a weight saving was made without compromising durability and quality. In all a 10% weight reduction was achieved (2,6 kg) for the container which comes in universal Standard Atlas and non- Atlas configuration.

WELLNESS

Thanks to the composite handle and lock the containers give a warm appearance compared with the cold aluminium feel.

The Hybrite container will be launched and presented together with the full Hybrite trolley line and the new Hybrite folding trolley at the Aircraft Interiors Expo on the Zodiac Aerospace booth 7D50. www.driessen.com
