Nico Vandecaveye Nico Vandecaveye has been appointed managing director of gate group’s deSter brand responsible for
sales, operations and financial performance worldwide. He will be based at the company’s headquarters in Hoogstraten, Belgium. Vandecaveye was most recently vp sales
at Georgia-Pacific, Brussels Belgium. He has extensive general management experience with Georgia-Pacific, a leading maker of tissue, pulp, paper, packaging, building products and related chemicals, and Mars Inc., a global food manufacturer. A Belgian citizen, he holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Leuven in Belgium.
Newrest
Erik Weinmann Erik Weinmann takes over from Christian Bris at the Newrest Group as inflight commercial director. Erik joined Newrest
Group in May 2010 as Newrest Canada general manager. He has acquired experience in customer relationships within several management positions in the hotel and airline catering industries in Europe, Middle East and Asia. The Newrest Group would like to thank Christian for his contribution for the past eight years and wish him all the best.
Watermark Products David Young With effect from January 1, 2012, David Young has been promoted to the role of president and chief executive
of Watermark Products. Whilst continuing to oversee the business, David’s primary focus will be on strategic sales and growth opportunities across new geographical regions and industry sectors.
Trish Manten After a number of senior roles in the Watermark Group, Trish Manten has been promoted to the role of managing director
Asia Pacific. Based in Sydney, Trish will be responsible for the group’s design, product development and operations activities globally and its sales in the Asia Pacific region.
Bernard Mills Having joined Watermark in December 2011 in the new role of Brands Manager, Bernard Mills is responsible for
global brand development and partnerships. Formerly a senior product development manager with Qantas, Bernard brings a wealth of industry experience to the team. Bernard will be based in the Sydney office.
Oman Air
Wayne Pearce From January 2012, Wayne Pearce assumes the position of ceo for Oman Air. Wayne has held several senior executive
positions in Qantas and other airlines and was also the group managing director with Gold Medal Travel in the UK, which focuses on the Gulf Region. Said Wayne: “I look forward to playing a strong role in the development of Oman’s travel and tourism industry.”
Saleem Bin Amanullah Bin Abdul Hussain Based in Muscat, Mr Amanulla takes on the new role of general manager customer
services and will spearhead Oman Air’s drive for the highest quality in all direct customer contact. Mr Amanulla has a 23-year career in aviation, including a number of positions with Gulf Air. On taking up his appointment, Mr Amanulla said: “I am committed to delivering a seamless passenger experience.”
Lily O’Briens
Caroline Thompson Caroline Thompson has been appointed key account manager at Lily O’Briens. She has 25 years’ experience in
sales and marketing within the food industry including 14 years as sales director with Bartholdi Ltd. Caroline has also worked with AMI USA as
sales and development manager targeting airlines and Loseley Dairy Products. She has a strong understanding of travel food service and has a very hands-on approach to new product development, production, new business development and commercial accountability.
Linstol
Craig Mitchell Starting as Linstol UK’s new sales manager, Craig Mitchell will be responsible for all sales-related issues in Europe,
the Middle East and Africa, including client relationship and customer services. Craig holds a degree in Hospitality Management and a diploma in Business and Finance and worked in hotels in the Far East before moving to Dubai for a sales and marketing post in the airline supplies sector. RacketGroup
Anne Bauer As RacketGroup’s Joseph Hoagland steps down from the daily management of its two cattle ranches and commercial
feedlot, his son Dirck Hoagland will replace him and daughter, Anne Bauer, is promoted to president and ceo. Anne has been with the company for 14 years and was responsible for opening its Europe office, before returning to the States to become the company’s director of sales. Last year, Racket’s sales increased nearly 30 per cent under her leadership.
