SPORTING SOLUTIONS

Bringing cloud computing within reach Sporting Solutions

believes it’s time for bookmakers to get their heads in the clouds and experience its latest software as a service.

porting Solutions, the software and data services division of the Sporting Index Group, is launching a new suite of cloud- based trading tools which it believes are set to revolutionise the way sportsbooks gen- erate their prices. The new product range, known as Cloud Calculation Engines or C²E, provides sportsbooks with access to Sporting Solu- tions’ pricing models for both in-play and pre-match pricing. C²E is offered alongside the existing Sporting Solutions Direct in- play price feed service. Both products are supplied through a single point of integra- tion. Sportsbooks can therefore give their traders the best pricing tools available, en- abling them to set their own prices via C²E or receive automated prices direct from Sporting Solutions.

S SIMON TRIM: ‘C²E TAKES

SPORTS TRADING INTO THE CLOUD COMPUTING ERA’

C²E has been designed to enable sports- books to dramatically reduce operating costs through the elimination of significant data centre, hardware and system mainte- nance costs. With a simple internet con- nection it is possible to access the C²E service and trade any game from any com- modity desktop or laptop computer. Delivered as a cloud-based ‘Software as a Service’, C²E is available on demand. This highly flexible and efficient approach means that sportsbooks can offer any com- bination of sport, event coverage and mar- ket availability. Sporting Solutions’ partners therefore have complete flexibility to offer the product menu that their customer base demands, and balance costs accordingly. Simon Trim, managing director of Sport- ing Solutions, said: “Sportsbooks have al-

ways been so impressed with our models, and our level of pricing sophistication, that we have been asked on many occasions to provide access to them.

“C²E makes this possible - sportsbook operators can now give their traders the best pricing tools available, and whether they want our fixed odds prices, or trade their own, we have a cloud-based solution to cater for every trading floor’s needs. We genuinely believe that this will revolutionise the way global operators generate their sportsbook prices. Developed by traders for traders, C²E takes sports trading into the cloud computing era.” The firm said that C²E offers a significant number of technical and operational

benefits to sportsbook operators, includ- ing: • Enhanced price quality and range of in- play markets produced by best of breed pricing models; • Large range of markets that can be cus- tomised for individual sportsbooks; • Fully customisable functionality pro- vides complete partner control over event and market coverage, as well as trading re- quirements such as margin and trading rules management; • Ability to generate extra revenue from keener pricing and optimal overround ap- plication; • Accessed via a standard internet con- nection. Rapid to deploy and scalable on

demand; • Supports multi-jurisdictional trading. A single trader, trading from a single model, can produce different prices for different ju- risdictional websites on the same market; • Removes expensive computationally system load as price calculations or com- puted in the cloud; • Eradicates expensive data centre and physical hardware costs; • Support and maintenance costs are re- moved and headcount can be reduced as manual administration is eliminated; • Provides very cost effective DR cover; • Performance resilience and high avail- able up-time via multiple versions of the system being available simultaneously.

Big demand

Steve Rogers, managing director for virtual sports at Inspired, commented: “Over the past few years, the growth of our online virtual sports revenues in particular have been outstand- ing and a mobile equivalent is now in high demand with operators and their cus-

tomers.” Part of the mix Platinum deal

Paddy Power has gone live in its Ireland and UK retail estates with Inspired’s Platinum Virtual Sports platform; a bespoke sys- tem giving the operator full control to select which sports to offer, schedule the timetable of races, matches and numbers draws, and set the margin on each event.

Andy McCue, head of UK retail at Paddy Power, added: “Paddy Power is synonymous with fun and entertainment. We have al- ways been focused on giving our customers the most exciting gam- ing and betting content, and vir- tual sports will now be an important part of this mix.”
