BettingBusinessInteractive • JANUARY 2012 Essential Guide to ... ICE Totally Gaming 2012 PARSPRO

Automatically managing live betting markets

While a lot of firms want to get involved in live betting, many don’t want the hassle of managing liabilities in real time - which is where supplier Parspro comes in.

horvar Hafsteinsson, sales and marketing manager and sportsbook developer Parspro, thinks that 2012 will see in- creased attention on live betting as more and more opera- tors look to move into the industry’s fastest growing sector. He explained: “Though pre-match betting has been the main source of income in the past years, live betting has been gaining popularity, and will, without a doubt, be the most popular sector of the industry. The next platform for bet in running will be interactive TV, and the mar- kets are endless: reality shows, Eurovision, politics, fantasy sports and games, and other products such as poker and casino, stock prices - basically anything customers can and are willing to follow live.” Fortunately, Pasrpro has just the solution for operators looking to get into live sports betting, but without the extensive costs associat- ed with trading in-play -the Parspro live betting platform. The Par- spro Live betting platform uses automation to drive down operator costs by enabling an individual bookmaker to oversee multiple events connected by live feeds to a single interface. Its purpose-built management client provides full control of running bets, allowing operators to open and close markets, change odds, and pay out win- nings, all in real time. As a result, the system helps optimise profit on outstanding bets, by providing the operator with a complete

overview of the performance of each bet. The firm’s ppTOTO management application, which has just been adopted by Spanish giants Cirsa, enables operators to go beyond the white label model and offers a fully automated sportsbook incorporat- ing full control of risk management, odds recalculation, event closure, results and payouts.

Hafsteinsson said the Cirsa deal was an excellent example of the use of automation to drive down costs: “When in manual mode, each individual bookmaker is able to oversee multiple events using a single interface. This set-up ensures a high availability of international events at any given time, and at the same time allows the operator to control domestic events that are of premium priority for the operation. “Operating seamlessly in tandem, the Parspro Juliet (live betting) and ppTOTO (sports book) purpose-built management clients pro- vide full control of running bets, allowing operators to open and close markets, change odds, and pay out winnings, all in real time. As a result, the system helps optimise profit on outstanding bets, by providing the operator with a complete overview of the perform- ance of each bet.”
