COACHES


GREGOR TOWNSEND MBE Attack Coach


Born: 26 April 1973 in Galashiels Gregor, who played club rugby in Scotland, England, France and South Africa, won the first of his then record-breaking 82 caps for Scotland as a replacement against England in 1993. His last appearance was in the 2003 Rugby World cup quarter final against Australia. He scored 164 points for Scotland, including 17 tries, captained Scotland in two tests in 1996/97 and in 1998/99 matched the record of 1925 Grand Slam centre Johnnie Wallace by scoring a try in each of Scotland’s then Five Nations championship matches. He was awarded the MBE in the 1999 Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to rugby.


GRAHAM STEADMAN Defence Coach


Born: 8 December 1961 in Castleford A former Great Britain rugby league internationalist, Graham played for and coached Castleford during his career. He also acted as assistant coach for the Great Britain rugby league team from 2001-04 and joined Munster as defence coach from 2003-05. Before becoming part of the Scottish Rugby coaching set-up, he was national defence coach for Ireland from 2005-08.


DUNCAN HODGE


Specialist Coach (kicking) Born: 18 August 1974 in Dumfries


Hodge won 26 caps for Scotland, including two appearances at the 1999 Rugby World Cup. His finest moment was when he converted his own try and kicked four penalties to score all of the points for Scotland in the 2000 Calcutta Cup 19 - 13 win against England. At club level he played for Edinburgh Gunners twice, sandwiched around a two-year spell with Leeds Tykes.


MASSIMO CUTTITTA Specialist Coach (scrums)


Born: 2 September 1966 in Latina, Italy Capped 68 times for Italy (1990-2000), Massimo scored 6 tries and 29 points for his country and was captain on 16 occasions. He played at the 1991 and 1995 Rugby World Cups. After hanging up his boots he became coach of Amatori Rugby Milano then Rugby Leonessa, before moving to Edinburgh Rugby in 2006 and subsequently working with the Scotland squad.
