CHRIS CUSITER
Christopher Peter Cusiter played for North Schools and Scottish Schools before graduating to the Scotland under-18, under-19 and under-21 sides. He was in the national under-19 team in the 2001 IRB/FIRA world junior championship in Chile and played in eight under-21 internationals, including the 2003 under-21 Six Nations Championship when he scored a stunning individual try in the victory against Italy. He debuted for Scotland A in the victory against Romania in November 2002 and in June 2009 he led the team to victory in the IRB Nations Cup in Bucharest.
His Scotland debut came in the Six Nations’ match
against Wales in 2004, and his first international try followed later that year in the second Test of the tour to Australia. Playing in all Scotland’s games in the 2005 Six Nations, he was voted man of the match for his battling display against France. Chris played in six matches on the 2005 British and Irish Lions tour, including the pre- departure Test against Argentina in Cardiff. He began the 2006 RBS 6 Nations campaign against
Italy until injury forced him to leave the field after only ten minutes. Later that year, just a week after his try-scoring appearance in the win over Romania, he was injured at the outset against the Pacific Islanders. However he was back in the national side for the match against England in the 2007 RBS 6 Nations. As part of Scotland’s 2007 Rugby World Cup side,
he scored his third international try as a replacement in the quarter final against Argentina. At the end of season 2008/09 he joined Glasgow Warriors then led his country for the first time against Fiji in November 2009. During the 2010 Six Nations he became the 26th Scotland player to reach his 50th cap when he led the side against Italy.
After a season out through injury, he returned to international duty off the bench against Italy in the second EMC Test in August 2011.
