February 11-13, 2011 Waunakee Middle School


Next Direction for Band will bring together outstanding high school students from across Wisconsin who share an interest in learning more about what is involved in entering a music career, specifically in band. They will gain valuable experience through exploration:


• Discover the “why” behind rehearsal procedures


• Learn about the skills necessary to become a successful musician and music educator


• Try out those skills in small group sessions and rehearsals


• Talk to university music education students


• Participate in mini-sessions with quality Wisconsin directors


Next Direction is a program of


Wisconsin Music Educators Association in collaboration with Wisconsin School Music Association and funded in part by a generous contribution from White House of Music.
