Breaking News WSMA Launching “MyCenter” Interactive Web Resource


In response to member interest and focus group input, the WSMA web site, www. wsmamusic.org, will soon be home to a new and advanced interactive web resource called “MyCenter.” In collabora- tion with Clarity Technology Group and Tall Guy Productions, WSMA will begin rolling out this “my account” concept, which will include a variety of features that bring greater service, networking and resources to member school contacts via the web site, such as:


• User profiles – will allow users to view certain membership data and create preferences for how they would like to view and receive information specifically for them through MyCenter. This module will also allow connections to be created between members to show certain relationships with each other (similar to how Facebook creates connections).


• Historical and financial data – For example, WSMA school district, festival and payment in- formation will be imported into the system and linked to a school for informational purposes. Teach- ers will be able to view the school and school district information related to their school when they are logged in. In addition, teachers will be able to view the current and historical information on festivals their school has attended and pay- ments that their school has made.


• Messaging and express module – will enable announcements, forums, news feeds and blogs within the membership network through MyCenter.


• Online member directory – In the future, this directory will allow WSMA members limited access to other member schools’ information and request relation- ships to them through their “MyCenter.”


MyCenter will be launched in phases beginning this spring and continuing throughout the year and into the future. Stay tuned for more developments as this advancement in web technology is rolled out.
