In the Center What’s Happening…
The Wisconsin Center for Music Education was an eventful place over the last few months. A number of individuals and groups visited the center, including representatives of different organizations and even a delegation from Singapore (see below). Learn more about upcoming meetings and events at the center by visiting the calendar at

Center Gifted With AED
Through the generosity of WSMA Field Reps, an automated external defibrillator (AED) was recently installed in the Les Paul Atrium of the Wisconsin Center for Music Education. Donations of $800 were given toward the purchase of the AED with matching funds coming from the Masonic Foundation. Gregg Butler, WSMA Board member, installed the unit in September and provided orientation on its use to the center staff. The emergency AED is an important addition to the cen- ter, which serves an increasingly diverse population of visitors.

Singapore Delegation Visits Center!
A delegation team from Singapore Teach- ers’ Academy for the Arts (STAR) sought out the Wisconsin Center for Music Edu- cation in Waunakee as one of only a few places in the United States to visit during their nine-day study trip to learn more about educational and arts programming in this country. The delegation visited the center on October 29 before heading to New York and Boston to wrap up their study tour at key places like New York University, New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. Singapore is known for its emphasis on math, mak- ing this arts tour significant news.
