Rome welcomes EAS
AS it continues with a policy of moving around Europe, this year’s Euro Attractions Show (EAS) sees the event coming to the Fiera Di Roma exhibition and conference centre in Rome, Italy, with the organisers once again promising a full programme of events and networking opportunities, along with a bustling trade show floor featuring key industry suppliers and manufacturers, to tempt visitors.
Last year’s event in Amsterdam attracted around 8,000
visitors from 100 countries, according to official figures, with more than 275 companies taking part in the exhibition itself. With a comprehensive seminar programme, a two and a half day Institute for Attractions Managers programme, several special events, various networking opportunities and a show floor hosting an expected 250 plus exhibitors, EAS seems set once again to provide attendees with a fine showcase. Exhibitors are due to cover over 90 different product
categories, from roller coasters and water rides, plush toys and games, to ticketing and F & B, design consulting and theming - and much more – while alongside the trade show, an educational programme will provide added opportunities to add to current knowledge and expertise. From October 3 to 5, the Institute for Attractions
Managers will provide a crash course in attractions management. It is aimed at those with at least three years’ experience in the industry who have the potential and commitment to be on a senior management team. The course also targets managers entering the attractions industry from other businesses. Areas to be covered will
include finance, marketing, leadership, facility operations and safety and revenue operations. Additionally, commencing on the first day of the trade
show, Wednesday, October 6, a range of seminar sessions will be held over the following two days, with subjects covering key aspects of park operation and senior members of the industry from highly respected parks and companies taking part. Sessions will include the marketing of attractions in the
digital age; European “theme park legends,” who will debate the present and look to the future of the attractions industry; the IAAPA Europe Waterpark Forum; a Safety Forum; and food operations in the attractions industry. All the Wednesday and Thursday sessions will be held in the Fiera Di Roma conference centre. Special events will also add much to this year’s EAS,
with Rome itself, not surprisingly, offering up some unique opportunities for socialising and relaxation. On the Tuesday afternoon, October 5, attendees have an opportunity to join a tour of the Vatican, while on the Friday, again in the afternoon, a tour of Rome’s latest theme park development, Rainbow Magic Land, will take place. On the evening of October 6, the EAS Welcome Reception will be held in the Fiera Di Roma, while the EAS Party takes place on Thursday, October 7, at the Villa Miani. This year’s EAS trade show takes place over a total of
three days, from October 6 to 8, and together with all that is on offer throughout the week is sure to provide plenty of interest and a wide range of business opportunities for all those who make the trip to Rome.
