the Gravitron factory, all being located in the main building at the far end of the pier. And completing the package are two of the
company’s land trains which will transport up to 32 passengers
at any one time along the
largest of its type in the world – which features 22 electric karts capable of travelling at speeds of up to 70mph, although not surprisingly they are limited in this particular installation. Two of the karts featured are also twin-seaters and the track takes riders around a smooth, twisting circuit featuring two ramp sections. Each kart can be remotely controlled by the operator too, who if necessary can guide a vehicle back to the pit lane from anywhere on the track. Additionally, Gravitron has installed a12.5m
(41ft) high twin slide Helter Skelter, custom- built to fit into the confines of a corner of the new pavilion building, while at the bottom of this, and directly below the go-kart track, is a bumper car track also built by the company (but using vehicles from the Italian firm I.E. Park/SOLI Bumper Cars). A Ghost Train offering “family-friendly horror,”
a three-storey Crazy House featuring 30 fun obstacles, a Mirror Maze and a Groovy House with a magical, psychedelic, three-dimensional light show, in which visitors wear special light refracting glasses, have also been supplied from
full length of the pier. As with all the rides built by Gravitron, these are electrically driven to ensure low noise levels and no pollution and each train has space to carry a passenger in a wheelchair. The above mentioned, however, are but some of the products on offer from the company.
Other rides available include monorail systems, aqua karts, all-terrain vehicles, dragsters and Kidz Kartz, electric karts suitable for children aged three up to 12 and which can operate on a variety of surfaces.
