Postpress vendor introduces an economical 2D automatic finisher
R
ollem (booth 624), a lead- ing manufacturer of slitting, scoring, trimming, perforat- ing and drilling machinery,
is focused on providing customers with the most automated and afford- able systems to complete the final bindery processes. Visitors can see live demonstrations on six finishing systems, each showing highly profit- able jobs such as greeting cards, photo cards and sheets, postcards, direct mailers and business cards.
Key to Rollem’s equipment is the abil- ity to start with a multiple-up press sheet, trim, slit, score, perf, glue, and create a finished product ready for boxing or mail bins. Extra touch points, time, and waste are eliminated, resulting in increased profits and quicker turnaround times. Rollem is debuting the 2D finisher
(shown above), an entry-level, bi-direc- tional, slit, score, trim, and perforating system. The live demo shows 2-up greeting card press sheets finished in one process.
Unique features Four other two-directional systems are being demonstrated, including the ETR system with new interleaf strik- ing capability. The unit has the ability to program perforations on different pages, such as multiple page invoices with the last page requiring a tear-off remittance. This is a feature unique to Rollem with the ability to program in/ out perforations.

The legislation changed certain work rules at McCormick Place to provide greater flexibility for exhibitors in their booth setup and takedown procedures. Exhibi- tors seem to be pleased by the changes. “This was the easiest setup ever,”
said Ted Van Pelt, President of Therm- O-Type. “Our truck got here early and they unloaded us early and even worked through lunch.”

New Rules Please Exhibitors
Rick Patterson, President of Graphic Associates, said that he hasn’t had any real problems at McCormick in the past. “At PRINT 09 we had just an informa- tional booth,” he said. “With the new work rules we were encouraged to bring equipment.”

said he has been coming to GRAPH EXPO for seven years. “This year was much easier,” he said. “It was simpler and the changes in the work rules are a positive step.”
So it seems as if the work rule chang-
es have had a favorable effect on exhibi- tors at GRAPH EXPO 2010.
Taylor Achieves Milestone
