Vietnam Airlines recently renewed its catering contract with Servair for three years for all flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. The airline’s nine weekly flights to Ho Chi Minh
City and Hanoi will also be cleaned by Servair. In another three-year contract renewal,
Servair will continue to cater Business and Economy on Royal Jordanian’s eight weekly flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle. And Singapore Airlines has chosen Servair AirChef as caterer for its flights that stop over in Rome. * During a recent Sustainable Development
Week, Aeroports de Paris and the French Environmental and Energy Management Agency awarded Base Handling, a subsidiary of Servair, the Eco-Friendly Action trophy for innovative measures implemented to recover water from ice-cubes. Once it has been filtered, the water is then reused to clean the unit’s workshop floors.

Ping pong for all
Whether passengers call it table tennis, ping- pong or wiff-waff, they had an opportunity to pick up a bat and play the classic British sport at Heathrow recently. A ping pong table was installed in the
departures area of Heathrow’s Terminal 3 for a month in July as part of the airport’s ongoing efforts to promote the best of British sport and culture. The table was one of 100 to be installed across London at locations including the London Eye, Tate Britain and the British Library this summer. Created by Sing London, the articipatory arts organisation that produced last year’s Street Pianos Project, Ping! will aim to encourage a million more people to take up sport by the time London hosts the Olympics in 2012. After the four-week period, the table was donated to a local organisation nominated by the staff at Heathrow.
