Winning a Mercurys Winning a Mercurys award has made a huge difference to our small (but growing!) business. It gives us credibility when we call buyers and we are also discussing opportunities with potential customers that we met on other people’s stands or over lunch. We are so grateful that people working in an industry that is facing so many challenges took the time to give us such a warm welcome and to share information and advice so openly. Many people that we spoke to said that small creative businesses like ours with innovative offerings were what the industry needs right now. For us the work was just beginning to understand more about what travel customers want and how we can deliver that. We currently supply Flybe and Aurigny with Virgin

trains following September 2010. We hope to add three more customers by the end of the year but Abi says I’m not allowed to say who in case I jinx it... www.teamgrasshoper.co.uk

the presence of the Mercurys Awards. This has allowed us the opportunity to promote innovative concepts whilst competing with bigger players and companies in their category. It also allowed us to promote the environmentally friendly potted desserts and offer the possibilities to operators and caterers to choose a ‘green’ solution, which proved successful with subsequent listings for our customers. ITCA has been a fantastic platform for us to promote our business, launch new products and keep up with ongoing developments in the travel sector. www.brinkers.nl
