Addis International Catering Makeda Yohannes Makeda Yohannes, assistant deputy general manager, has been appointed to head up a newly created sales & customer services department. Makeda has been with AIC since its inception in 2007. The department will be responsible for accounts management, events, sales administration, pricing, statistics and customer services.
Ruben “JB” Bueno Ruben “JB” Bueno, has been appointed finance and administration manager at Addis. He will lead the finance and administration department with all critical support services including HRD/training, hygiene and QA, maintenance, IT and accounting. JB has 13 years of airline catering experience in various top positions.
Hermann Michel Hermann Michel has joined Addis as executive sous chef. The main objective of his role will be to drive and oversee culinary and personnel development in the production department.
TFK Corporation Japan Makoto Fukada Makoto Fukada has been appointed president of TFK Corporation Japan. Fukada brings over 30 years of airline experience into his new position having worked for Japan Airlines in product development, passenger operations planning, international sales. He was formerly head of JAL’s Beijing office, and was on the board as a md. He brings to TFK an international outlook, high level management skills, and extensive connections within the airline industry.
Newrest Pascale Perez Pascale Perez has become part of Newrest executive committee and is in charge of the group’s development activities. She has also been appointed general manager of development and B to C activities. She will oversee development projects for all Newrest key sectors as well as strategic operations related to Newrest Wagons-lits and Airshop Solutions. Perez was previously ceo of Derichebourg Polyurbaine and managed Derichebourg’s multiservice development department.
The Magic Wand Foundation Harold Gittelmon, md of Harding Brothers Retail, is going to run in the New York Marathon. “I have never done a marathon before but want to do this for Helen Bull, who works for our customer, Carnival UK. Helen is the most inspiring person I have met. She was diagnosed with cancer in December 2007. In January 2009 she was given six to nine months to live – that was 19 months ago, since when she has kept extremely active and run various marathons. When the cancer spread to her spine, Helen looked for a project to keep her busy and came up with the idea of the Magic Wand Foundation charity - which grants wishes for adult cancer sufferers. I hope to raise £10,000 for the Foundation and am appealing to all those involved in the travel industry. My fundraising page is
