Most classes, with the exception of
the dinghys and Catamarans that only raced on the weekend, got 14 races off, The Melges 24 fleet and a couple of others managed to do 15 races! All without the benefit of any throw outs. One of the great things at this year’s

29er skiff, Katy Cenname was the most consistent winning with a ten point margin; Katy has been very active, participating in regattas all over the world. In the Laser fleet, there were two
super hot juniors from NW sailing families, David Brink and Alexis Aird. David sailed a great series, while dad Mark, a former Laser champ, paced back and forth on the dock pretending to be working on a couple of boat projects.

Alexis too, taking advantage of some great boat handling and sailing smart, was pushing Watt, Burcar and Brink around the race course. The J-24s had their Western Regional
Championships at the NOODs. The largest class, with 21 boats entered, showed no mercy to each other. I was fortunate enough to be sailing in this class with Hot Pursuit owners Mike Johnson and Joy Okazaki. All through the racing we were able to maintain good speed and
