Foulweather Bluff before setting east to round the Double Bluff buoy. The vast majority of boats headed
west under failing winds. A restart occurred just south of Point No Point, where boats stalled, no relief in sight. Only two boats managed to break through the depression and continue on to finish the full course, but just like Saturday, the wind came up to torture the sailors. The southerly assaulted with gusts up to 40 knots, forcing many to seek refuge in nearby marinas.

The STYC race committee thanks
Quantum Sails, North Sails, Ballard Sails, NW Rigging, the port of Port Townsend, and Seattle Marine Supply for their sponsorship and beer. Single and double-handed racing
often brings out the best creativity and concentration that racers can employ. "The formula, I think," says Butler, "is successful because (the race is) not especially long, but it's still challenging. You arrive at a place that's really fun."
