THE DSA SIMPLY CANNOT MODERATE. WHILE IT DOESN’T OFFICIALLY DESCRIBE ITSELF AS A TROJAN HORSE, ITS STRATEGY CLEARLY TREATS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY PRIMARILY AS A TEMPORARY BALLOT-ACCESS HOST ENTITY TO ELECT EXTREME SOCIALISTS, WITH THE LONGER-TERM AIM OF REPLACING THE EXISTING PARTY STRUCTURE RATHER THAN REFORMING IT.

defeated a DSA member in a primary in August, told CNN that many people in his district who escaped socialism find it inexplicable when they see the DSA “embrace 100 years of Fidel Castro,” or when media commentators such as DSA fa- vorite Hasan Piker dress up as Mao Zedong and praise the Soviet Union.
PARASITIC INFILTRATION But in truth, the DSA simply cannot moder- ate. While it doesn’t officially describe itself as a Trojan horse, its strategy clearly treats the Democratic Party primarily as a temporary ballot-access host entity to elect extreme so- cialists, with the longer-term aim of replacing the existing party structure rather than reform- ing it. Zohran Mamdani PRINCE OF CITY The biggest success story in the modern- day socialist storybook is clearly Zohran Mamdani, elected mayor of New York City in 2025 and thus an immediate
international figure. At 34, Mamdani is the son of a noted scholar and a
prize-winning filmmaker. After two terms in the New York State Assembly,
he won the mayor’s ofice after a textbook socialist campaign: meshing modern techniques such as TikTok to reach young voters and armies of volunteers to canvass neighborhoods door to door. True to his word, the mayor wants city-run
supermarkets, ICE agents to have warrants, and the rent on rent-stabilized apartments to be frozen for two years. The Ugandan-born Mamdani is ineligible to run for
president.

Bernie Sanders ELDER STATESMAN
At 85, whatever Bernie Sanders does in his twilight years will be less consequential than what he has done already: namely, run for president in
2016 and inspire what seems to be a generation of young democratic socialists to seek ofice. His endorsement has proven to pack a powerful punch
in this year’s Democratic primaries. New York’s Zohran Mamdani even invited the Vermont senator to swear him as mayor in January.
“I favor the public ownership of utilities, banks, and major industries.” (
