Trump Keeps Us Safe We were little kids,
he second world war ended largely because the United States of America fi gured out how to make an atomic bomb and started testing it in the
spring of 1945. That fi rst bomb was powered by splitting an atomic
bomb molecule. It released what had previously been an unimaginable amount of energy. Thus, a bomb with a comically small
amount of uranium, roughly the size of a softball, yielded an explosion equal to many thousands of tons of TNT. An amount suffi cient to level a major
Japanese city like Hiroshima. The explosion was so potent that it made the Japanese emperor give a blatant lie as the reason for his surrender. Hirohito told the world that he was
doing us all an immense favor. By surrendering, he was sparing the earth further nuclear explosions so powerful that they might tilt the globe off its axis and end all human life on the planet. By surrendering, he was also sparing a horrifi c invasion
which might cost the Japanese fi ghters 20 million deaths. That invasion might also cost the U.S. Army and Marines over 1 million deaths. The Japanese emperor said that an invasion might
also cost the world further many millions of deaths from radiation sickness. The catastrophe would be on a scale that the world had never seen, so said Emperor Hirohito. When these comments were being made, the Soviet Union, with the help of nuclear spies in America and the

United Kingdom, was frantically working to make its own nuclear bomb. By spring of 1949, the Russians had been successful. This came as a gigantic shock to America. We knew the
Russians had great scientists, but not that great. To us little kids, the truth that the Russians could now
deal with us as equals in the atom space was astounding. We endlessly studied graphs and
charts that showed how much of our capitals would vanish in a millionth of a second if the Reds used what they knew. We were little kids, but we were
scared. I am still scared. When we think of what Iran could do if it got a nuke and used it maliciously? God help us. Let’s pray it never happens. Like many of my fellow citizens,
I am dismayed by how much money President Donald Trump has taken
away from us taxpayers. I am horrifi ed by how many times Mr. Trump has promised that we have won the war against Iran, only to fi nd out that the war goes on and on and on. But Mr. Trump has sworn to never allow Iran to have a
nuclear device. I don’t see or hear any Democrat making that pledge. It is by far the most vital pledge that any person or entity
can and/or will make here on planet Earth. By itself, that makes Mr. Trump as important as anyone on earth can be. He’s far from perfect. But he’s as good as anyone
can be.
