SOCIALISM Threatens U.S.

Slow Down AGING

SEPTEMBER 2026 | Newsmax.com THE WOUND THAT WON’T HEAL

LIBERTY REQUIRES COURAGE AND SACRIFICE September 11 taught us that freedom is precious, enemies must be taken seriously, and national security cannot be neglected (“The Wound That Won’t Heal,” September). President Donald Trump is right to want to maintain a strong military, secure our borders, support law enforcement, and confront terrorism before threats reach our communities. Political correctness should never prevent leaders from identifying radical ideologies or defending American values. Liberty requires courage, sacrifi ce, and vigilance. We should honor those murdered on 9/11 by remaining united, prepared, and unapologetic about protecting our families and our nation.

Two decades later, we are still repeating dangerous mistakes. Our borders remain vulnerable, intelligence agencies are politicized, and leaders hesitate to call out radical Islamist terrorism. We spend billions abroad while neglecting security, veterans, and fi rst responders at home. Worse, national unity has given way to partisan contempt, and patriotism is too often treated with suspicion. frank devoe Greenville, N.C.

Endless wars, mass surveillance, torture, and discrimination did not make us safer; they weakened our values and harmed innocent people. We still confuse dissent with disloyalty and label entire communities as extremists. We should protect our democratic ideals, not abandon them.

AMERICAN SPIRIT The UFC embraced the American spirit that MAGA fans recognize — grit, competition, and loyalty to homegrown values (“UFC Marries MAGA,” August). While critics fi xated on the politics of holding an event at the White House, the UFC has focused on fi ghters, families,

and Friday night excitement across the country. UFC events have become a shared national ritual. That’s why it’s now America’s cultural powerhouse — proof that authentic toughness beats woke branding every time.

OLD HAT Democratic Socialists of America are only voicing out loud what many Democrat politicians really believe but are afraid to say. (“Democrats Unnerved by Wave of Socialist Victories,” August)

The United States is facing leftist violence that escalates beyond rhetoric into intimidation, vandalism, and assault. Too often, media and political

leaders treat these acts as isolated incidents rather than symptoms of an organized culture that rejects law and order. Freedom depends on confronting violence wherever it appears.

I wish Rush Limbaugh were around to see today’s Democrats eat each

other alive. Thank God for President Trump and America.

Gen Z needs a history lesson on the folly of socialism and communism. One of the fi rst things Lenin’s Bolsheviks did after convincing the masses in Russia to overthrow the Czar in 1917 was to confi scate all fi rearms from the people and close all churches. Then they took over people’s homes

and arranged servants, transportation, food, supplies, medical care, and power for themselves. The masses saw no improvement

in their lives, and if they protested, they were either killed or imprisoned. Look at how socialism and communism failed in Russia, China, North Korea, and Cuba, just to mention a few. Now it’s a threat to America.

COMPETENCE, PLEASE Republicans can still win the midterm elections by focusing on everyday economic priorities, restoring accountability, and presenting clear contrasts to the Democrats’ failures. Campaigns should highlight

energy aff ordability, secure borders,
