The Nissan Experience Car Test

In this issue we review four fabulous Nissans and experience the depth of this range and marque. First up we turn our attention to the Nissan Qashqai Tekna. Whilst offering the practicalities of an SUV but with the running costs of a hatchback, this award-winning car is perfect for those long family drives. The bright and bold body offers 19" Diamond Cut Alloy wheels and when this beautiful car pulled up outside our offices on a rainy day, it seemed to light up the road and its aesthetically pleasing LED headlights shone clearly through the fog. When climbing inside, you immediately notice the open road view you are presented above the leather steering wheel. The connective technology to your right includes a CD player and DAB Radio, a touchscreen navigation and entertainment system, AUX socket and USB port. On our drive through the Peak District we were particularly impressed by the Bose Premium Audio 8 Speaker Sound System that amplified superbly throughout the car. With a maximum speed of 115mph, the performance is both comfortable and effortless. Parking is aided by the rear-view camera, the blind spot warning and the impressive front and rear parking sensor, it was a breeze. Overall it was a very pleasant drive and perfect for the whole family. However, if you are one of those seeking a bit more of adventure, this car can handle any terrain you throw under it, from dirt covered country roads, to winding hill climbs, each bump and turn was barely noticeable. With an engine capacity of 1,197cc, and a combined mpg figure of 50.5, this means you can leave the worrying at home, this efficient engine wouldn’t let you down.

Next we focus on the formidable Nissan X-Trail Tekna. This powerful five-door SUV is perfect for adventure seekers. Whether you’re driving in cold winter or kicking back with the windows down on a summer’s day, this car is adaptable to all climates all year round. On the road you can monitor how your X-Trail is distributing power through its intelligent four-wheel drive system, which we found was an interesting feature to have for those car lovers. All this power doesn’t compromise its efficiency by any means; the X-Trail’s electrically controlled CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) delivers a seamless wave of power and has a environment-friendly ‘eco’ mode too. This car returns a huge 57.6 mpg and accelerates

from 0-60mph in just 10.5 seconds It certainly got our hearts racing. Not only is it an energetic and impressive car in terms of power, it doesn’t fall short in the style department either. With its chrome door sills and 19” two-tone aluminium wheels, expect to turn a few heads. It has great presence with its bold frame and muscular structure. In the cockpit, it offers a fresh and modern look with its luxurious upholstered central console and heated leather D shaped steering wheel with a sporty grip. The metallic accents and glossy black door trim create a sense of real luxury and comfort. There are also auto-folding wing mirrors, to ensure your car stays looking good. Who says adventure can’t be sophisticated and chic too? Have it all with the Nissan X-Trail.
