Wales St Davids Commercial Colin Flannigan

St Davids Commercial was established in March 1990 when interest rates were at 14% borrowing from banks was generally 3 ½ %

over the base rate, their daughter Charlotte was only 8 weeks old, people thought Colin and Debbie Flannigan were crazy.

Spotting a gap in the market Colin and Debbie decided to specialise in Commercial Property sales and lettings. St Davids Commercial are now a successful family business.

In 2017 St Davids Commercial updated their website making it easier to navigate. All the properties that the office have available are featured on the website. www.stdavidsproperty.com.

“After 29 years this job is still as interesting and challenging as if was at the start of

my career. I choose to reply with a no comment answer, when clients ask me my opinion on Brexit.

The last financial year was our most profitable to date, this is down to the hard work of the staff together with constant marketing and chasing up deals. The hard work and dedication of the staff is the reason why the office is successful and why we have so many regular clients coming to St Davids Commercial with repeat business.

There will be a rippled effect with the ongoing turmoil of Brexit or no-deal Brexit as clients will be looking to relocate out of the big cities and into North Wales. This happens every 10 years and numerous cash buyers show interest in the commercial market and leisure properties become more attractive to clients. Due to the extensive enquiries the offices have already received this year, we envisage the market to continue to rise.

The industrial sector in Conwy area is extremely busy, our latest acquisition of

COMMERCIAL PROPERTY MONTHLY 2019 27

Conwy Council have always had offices in Colwyn Bay, but when they decide to expand, rebuilding and moving 750 staff into the area, people were conflicted. In my opinion this has helped the town dramatically and as a Commercial Estate Agents we have seen a rise in cafes, specialist retails shops and even breweries coming into the area. This scheme was built by reputable company Bower and Kirkland. There are still a few opportunities for investors to acquire properties and details are featured on our website”.

“One of our highlights from last year, was the sale of Nino’s, Rhos Promenade, Rhos on Sea. It was our quickest sale in 2018 with the property only being on the market 24 hours.
