will cover the six stages planned. Hotel Xcaret Mexico has fi ve different and personalised areas or ‘houses’: Fire House, only for adults; House Earth for premier families; House Water, spa & wellness; Spiral House, oriented to adults; and Casa Viento, especially for families.

To the lighthouse With an investment of more than USD$2 million, the Experiencias Xcaret consortium built a lighthouse-lookout over 40 meters high in one of its eco-tourism parks in the Riviera Maya: Xel Há, in the municipality of Tulum. The creator of this attraction is the architect and general director of Experiencias Xcaret, Miguel Quintana Pali, who for almost 30 years has developed unique tourism concepts taking advantage of the plant, geological and water wealth of the Yucatan Peninsula. Quintana Pali has also been the author of other experiences in the company’s

parks, such as Xcaret, Xel-Há, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xoximilco and the Xenotes tour, which collectively receive more than 3 million tourists each year. The Lighthouse watchtower will not only be an attraction within Xel-Há, but will

also serve as a reference for maritime navigation. It allows visitors to ascend a 40metre high platform from which it is possible to enjoy an incomparable view of the natural wonder of this park: a body of water of more than 14 hectares with a 70 metre wide mouth facing the Caribbean Sea, where the fresh water that comes from underground rivers and the salt water of the sea are combined. The 360 degree view from the heights also allows visitors to appreciate more

than 60 hectares of jungle and the blue ocean of the Caribbean Sea. But what is surprising is the way down from the lighthouse - a four-channel

downhill slide by Fibrart, which offers tourists an adrenaline and speed experience to reach the water that surrounds the structure.

A family experience It is not long until the opening of new water park Costa Acuática, located in the town of Santa Teresita, in Buenos Aires, the Argentine capital. The fi rst stage will have a twelve and a half metre tower with six slides of

different levels, plus a pool for children under seven years, with banks with water jets for parents waiting for the little ones. In the following years they will execute extensions, explained Diego Balmaceda, one of the directors of the project, who explained that it is an initiative of local entrepreneurs. From the tower the view is imposing, with the sea in front and a panoramic view

of the pier, the classic Santa María Caravel and a good part of the town of Santa Teresita. “Our intention is to see the beauty of the city and that in passing one can enjoy this park as a family,” said Balmaceda. The entry system will be from a wristband with electronic windlasses to spend a whole day without having to stay all the time in the place. “We want those who visit us to have complete freedom to enter and leave throughout the day,” the businessman concluded.
