What caught your eye at this year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo?
Anthony Catanoso, Steel Pier: There were a couple of new family rides, including the SBF/ Visa Crazy Cabs at the Rides-4-U booth. Also, I’m always impressed with Premier Rides’ products. We’re in serious talks for our next big project.
Peter Osbeck, Gröna Lund: Rocky Mountains new Raptor single track coaster; Macks new Spinning Mouse vehicle. Vekoma had also some interesting new things. It is always exciting to visit booths like Intamin, Premier Rides and Sally.
Ken Detty, Palace Playland: There is so much stuff going to electronics. I see many rides with screens, video, lighting changes. It’s crazy what they’re doing now with LEDs. I like the SBF/ Visa Crazy 8’s spinning roller coaster with lights, and the SBF/Visa Crazy Cabs.
Bill Kitchen, US Thrill Rides: I think the Zip- Coaster (from Zip-Flyer) is really exciting because you can run a track down a mountain and safely control the speed and safety of the flyers.
Jack Morey, Morey’s Piers: Rocky Mountain’s new single beam track. Skyline’s new more affordable coasters. Multiple climbing wall vendors, likely due in part to climbing being a part of the next Olympics. A new appreciation as to just how global IAAPA is.
Paul Nelson, Waldameer & Water World: From Rocky Mountain Construction, there’s the smaller steel coaster using Raptor track. I like the Zamperla Discovery pendulum swing. Also, the Octopus racing slide from ProSlide. We’re installing one.
