Miele introduces its next generation of appliances
Dr Markus Miele, the company’s Executive M
iele unveiled its latest products across three of its key categories – washing machines, tumble dryers, and vacuum cleaners – at its IFA 2024 press conference.
The company also shared new insights into its pioneering circularity projects.. The W2 and T2 Nova Edition, Miele’s latest washing machine and tumble dryer models, boast several cutting-edge features; these include shorter cycle times, enhanced loading flexibility, a sleek design, and convenient one- touch door opening. The standout innovation is the InfinityCare honeycomb drum – the world’s first ribless drum, which helps to decrease wear on fabrics.
Director and Co-Proprietor, highlighted the breakthrough: “Our engineers have resolved this issue with a carefully calibrated rotation rhythm, which efficiently moves laundry using only balanced pendulum motions.” Meanwhile, the T2 Nova Edition dryer features a new wool programme and can dry up to 4kg of laundry in just 49 minutes.
A new chapter for a Miele classic The Complete C3, Miele’s flagship bagged cylinder vacuum cleaner, has been a popular choice for 12 years, with over 10 million units sold. But now there’s a new successor. The Guard L1 was presented for the first time at IFA; with this and its two other series (M1 and S1), Miele said it is completely reinventing itself in the field of bagged cylinder vacuum cleaners. “Our new Guard L1 sets new standards in

ease of use, hygiene and design,” said Dr Reinhard Zinkann, Miele’s Executive Director and Co-Proprietor. “This is made possible by combining highly efficient motors, floorheads and air guides with a new bag concept and a multi-stage filter system.”
Commitment to circularity Also at IFA this year, Rebecca Steinhage, Executive Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, outlined Miele’s commitment to sustainability and resource conservation. She spoke about pilot projects across Europe to sell refurbished washing machines to test consumer acceptance of reconditioned electronic modules as an alternative to new spare parts for repairs. Ms Steinhage also unveiled a design concept for a fully modular, nearly 100 per cent recyclable vacuum cleaner in order to meet consumers’ growing interest in product repair and circularity.
