SUSTAINABILITY PARTNERS ERT Awards

A certified 14

A certified carbon neutral event!

carbon neutral event!

Sustainability is at the top of the agenda for most companies now, large and small, and there is an increasing responsibility to be as efficient as possible throughout the supply chain. So whether that’s manufacturers and suppliers sourcing the most sustainable materials, or electrical retailers reducing their energy usage in their stores, our industry can certainly play a major part in ensuring we protect our planet for generations to come. The ERT Awards is a key event in the industry’s calendar and

therefore it is important for us to reflect these changing values. So with the help and support of our amazing sustainability partners – AEG, AMDEA, Electrolux, and The Appliance Recycling Group – we plan to complete a rigorous data collection process to make the ERT Awards 2024 a completely carbon neutral event! We are on a continuing journey to meticulously calculate the whole carbon footprint of the event generated before, during and after the

day itself. Once complete we will offset all the carbon produced by the event by supporting official eco-friendly projects around the world. Charlotte Steadman, Event Manager for the ERT Awards, commented: “Right now it is vital that our industry promotes not only leading technical innovation but also products that meet consumers’ expectations of a greener future. Brands and retailers are leading the way with this, but we feel that as ERT is the oldest and most established media platform in this industry, we also want to do our bit. “This is now our third year of operating a certified carbon neutral event, and we are extremely delighted to support yet another worthy cause in the coming months.”

THANKS TO OUR SUSTAINABILITY P

“At Electrolux, we believe it is vital that awards and events demonstrate commitment to sustainable practices, which is why we are proud to be a Sustainability Partner for the upcoming ERT Awards for the second year in a row! “As a supplier, we recognise our growing responsibility to meet sustainability goals and ensure we continue providing independent electrical retailers with our most energy-efficient appliances. “We achieved our first science-based climate target three years ahead of schedule, and recently had our second science-based climate target approved, as we continue our journey to net zero. This second target aims to reduce our direct and indirect carbon emissions resulting from its operations (scope 1 and 2) by 85 per

cent and absolute scope 3 carbon emissions. This includes reducing the emissions generated by sold

products in use, materials, transport of products, and business travel, by 42 per cent between 2021 and 2030.

“Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from our operations and manufacturing processes to our innovative product design. We are delighted to be shortlisted for two ERT Awards this year – the ‘Best Manufacturer/Supplier Sustainability Initiative’ category, recognising both our AEG EcoLine selection of appliances, and our Don’t Wash Your Clothes campaign (DWYC), which further validates our commitment to bringing energy-saving solutions to the end consumer.”
