ERT stopped by the Polti stand at IFA this year to have a chat with President and CEO, Francesca Polti.

S

ince 1978, Polti has been an Italian global leader in steam technology, offering sustainable solutions to take care of families responsibly while respecting nature. The company

has revolutionised daily habits with a range of unique products and over 200 patents, bringing an eco-friendly and healthy cleaning solution into homes through the power of steam. Steam has three “physical” properties that enable thorough and hygienic cleaning: the combination of water, temperature and pressure ensures the effective removal of grease and dirt while neutralising odours throughout the home. Additionally, hot steam kills up to 99.99 per cent* of all bacteria and viruses and binds allergens. Last month Polti showcased new innovations

at IFA Berlin, including the Polti Vaporetto Pro 8X Eco Plus and the Vaporetto Smart 110 Eco Steam Cleaners. “We also presented news about our patents and our accessories, and how we care for families and pets in the home,” said Francesca Polti, President and CEO of Polti SpA. At the show, she sat down for a catch up with ERT… “Polti steam is an effective, convenient, and easy-to-use method for cleaning all surfaces, including delicate floors like wood,” added Ms Polti. “Our range includes steam mops, steam

cleaners and steam vacuum cleaners. So for us, it was a very good occasion to show to the end user, to retailers and to our partners, the R&D we have studied in recent years, and how we are implementing those ideas and those patents in the actual products.” IFA is a very important trade show for the brand; not only can the team meet with its main partners from all over the world, but all its subsidiaries – including the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain – can come together at one time to see, touch and feel the latest products. Polti has a three-year expansion plan, Ms Polti explained, and IFA provided the opportunity to meet new distributors and reinforce the company’s new and existing partnerships. “I think the key drivers for Polti’s success

are our values, respect, sustainability and innovation,” Ms Polti went on. “This means we will keep innovating in our two core markets – steam-generator irons and steam cleaners. We will continue to be respectful of the environment and of our people; we care about the people working for us and we have a welfare program which is very important and enables us to grow and develop with our colleagues. “And then it comes to sustainability. We have an ESG plan that is aligned with our 2030 agenda and the key theme of that is to continue

promoting steam as an alternative to chemicals to clean your home; the power of water and steam creates a natural, more eco-friendly environment. After all, our main message is ‘Steam Makes You Feel Good.’”

Polti is a family-run business – something that Ms Polti and her colleagues want to maintain for many years to come. Yet at the same time the company is a global player with impressive plans for expansion… In 2023, the brand entered further into the SDA and ‘Food and Beverage’ segments with a range of espresso machines, Polti Coffea, and the SOLO Caffè Monorigine, demonstrating its ongoing evolution. Then, earlier this year, Polti made a prominent return to the world of cycling by sponsoring the Team Polti Kometa, which helped increase brand recognition across Europe. Ms Polti added: “We don’t want to lose that cosy, caring family-orientated image; it’s important to us that we continue to care about people – our own people and of course our customers. However, I wanted to introduce a more flexible management philosophy. “So on one side we have a respectful management team where everybody has their own role and responsibilities, but I also want my colleagues to take ownership of their own departments and execute their own plans so they are not all dependent on one person from one family. In fact, at Polti we are all one big family! I think this will be key to our success in the future.”
