Leading the way
When it comes to sustainable solutions, Electrolux is one of the market leaders. Its 2023 Sustainability Report revealed that the company achieved its first science-based climate target three years ahead of schedule, and had its second science-based climate target approved; this target aims to reduce the brand’s direct and indirect carbon emissions resulting from its operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 85 per cent and absolute Scope 3 carbon emissions. This includes reducing the emissions generated by sold products in use, materials, transport of products, and business travel, by 42 per cent between 2021 and 2030. To further this, the report showed that in 2023, 60 per cent of all energy used in the company’s operations was from renewable sources. Says Mr White: “Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do, from our operations and manufacturing processes to our innovative product design and even further beyond. Most recently, we created a range of sustainable products across the Care and Taste categories which have economical features that allow homeowners to live more sustainably.” And elsewhere, part of the AEG EcoLine is the AEG 9000 Series AbsoluteCare 8kg Washing Machine, which is rated 30 per cent more energy efficient than other ‘A’ rated washing machines. Additionally, the Steam Refresh function on AEG’s 7000, 8000 and 9000 Series Washing Machines neutralises odours, reduces creases in between washes, and it’s said to use 96 per cent less water per cycle, allowing homeowners to save money and energy. The fourth edition of AEG’s Truth About Laundry Report also revealed that choosing lower temperatures and shorter wash cycles can lengthen the lifespan of clothes by more than 50 per cent.
“These initiatives and innovative product design led us to be named the Financial Times’ leading appliance company for sustainability in Europe,” Mr White explains, “while TIME recognised us as one of the world’s most sustainable companies!”

Sustainability partner This year Electrolux Group and AEG are once again headline Sustainability Partners for the ERT Awards, and Mr White believes that awards and events like this demonstrate commitment to sustainable practices.
He adds: “Not only that, but we’re delighted to be shortlisted twice in the Best Manufacturer/ Supplier Sustainability Initiative category at the ERT Awards this year. The awards recognise our AEG EcoLine range and our ‘Don’t Wash Your Clothes’ campaign, which further validates our commitment to bringing energy-saving solutions to the end consumer.”
In the shorter-term future, the hectic Christmas trading season is just around the corner, often kicking off with Black Friday towards the end of November and running through to the famous January sales. “We have some key marketing activations with independent electrical retailers in the pipeline, so we’re looking forward to an eventful quarter,” confirms Mr White. “Our field teams continue to call on retailers across the UK to maximise all potential opportunities. “Our door is open to any retailers that would like to know more about the products, offers and opportunities we have available.”
