LORDS IS A family owned business, established over thirty years ago, in Edmonton in 1985. As an independent supplier, Lords has built its reputation on service, reliability and flexibility. In 2001 they opened their first major heavyside branch in Park Royal with 2500 square feet of displays and trade counter. With a fleet of 45 vehicles, including 38 HGV’s with crane lifts and seven vans, Lords guarantee a next-day service with orders received before 2pm. They regularly request feedback from our customers to ensure that they retain a high standard of accurate billing.

THE BUSINESS WAS FOUNDED by Maurice Markovitz in 1935 His nephew Brian, joined him in 1953 to further develop the business, relocating in 1995 to a larger premesis in Tideswell and converting the original premises into a luxury kitchen, bedroom and bathroom showroom called “The Courtyard”. Since taking over the business, Brian’s sons, David and Robert, developed it to include a showroom in Chesterfield and opening seven more depots offering builders’ and plumbers’ merchants and civils services.

MGM TIMBER started in 1991 with one branch in Perth. The first expansion for MGM took them into Grangemouth and then acquired ex-Builders Mate branches in Dunfermline and Dundee, then branches in Glasgow and Glenrothes. Since 2005 it has been a wholly owned subsidiary of the James Donaldson Group of companies, along with sister companies: Donaldson Timber Engineering Ltd, James Donaldson Timber Ltd and James Donaldson Insulation Ltd. The company now has 13 branches across Scotland.
