BOYS & BODEN ORIGINALLY operated as a sawmill in Darlaston, Staffordshire. Cousins, Henry Boys Boden and Frank Albert Boys officially founded the company in 1895. Today, Boys & Boden has been honed into a specialist Builders’ Merchant, providing for both large scale trade jobs and small DIY projects. Stocking kitchens, tiles, external cladding, Crystal windows and doors, Boys & Boden have a variety of specialist sites including their Chester Showroom and DIY Superstore, while their subsiduary store Pear Stairs is a leading UK manufacturer and supplier of bespoke staircases.

Having been established in 1770, Bradfords will be celebrating its 250th anniversary in 2020. It now has 46 builders merchant businesses, 23 YPS plumbing branches, 23 tool hire branches and nine kitchen and bathroom showrooms. In August 2018, it bought Archmartin Ltd, which trades as Solo Building Supplies. Operating from one site in Penzance, South West Cornwall, the acquisition of Solo Building Supplies improves Bradfords’ branch coverage in the area and provides a great opportunity to serve other nearby towns. In March 2019, Bradfords sold its Snows Timber distribution subsidiary to a managment buy- out team, following a strategic review,, in order to focus more fully on the core business, Bradfords Building Supplies. The Bradfords Group first acquired Snow Timber Ltd in 1985.

BUILDER DEPOT HAS four branches in North London and offer an enormous range and depth of stock.
Builder Depot has over 25,000 products in stock with the largest merchant site in London, located in New Southgate, carrying the largest range of timber and building products, including 1 million metres of timber.
