FRANCHISEFOCUS IN V ESTMENT: FROM £75 ,000 The proof is in the pudding

Take a bite out of Warrens Bakery as its franchise opportunity continues to rise

E

stablished in 1860, South West- based Warrens Bakery places a firm focus on provenance, with

generations having passed down craft bakery techniques and traditions. Its vast years of experience in operating multiple, varied units, as well as ongoing recognition throughout the industry, means Warrens Bakery is well placed to fill the gap in the market for a national premium British bakery with a full-spectrum breakfast, lunch and afternoon offering. This is an exciting time of

development in Warrens Bakery’s 150- year history. Not only has 2018 seen the premium artisan bakery continue its phenomenal growth across the UK but it has also been crowned the winner of the esteemed Craft Bakery Business Award at the Baking Industry Awards. Mark Sullivan, chairman of Warrens

Bakery, says: “As a business, Warrens Bakery is growing at a rapid pace but the core values and working practices remain the same as they have always been. We are proudly celebrating this win due to the hard work and commitment of our greatly valued team, and the dedication to sourcing the best ingredients and producing the finest artisan bakery products.” Expanding into new regions by working in partnership with established local franchisees has proven to be a winning formula for the world’s oldest Cornish pasty maker and Cornwall’s longest established bakery, with numerous franchise stores opening across Britain in the past 18 months. The premium bakery now has stores in the South West, Greater London, Manchester, Birmingham, Hampshire, Sussex, Essex, Surrey, Kent, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire and Wales, with plans to expand further afield with its quality products, craft heritage and contemporary branding. Now more than 70 stores-strong nationally, 2019 promises be an equally

exciting and successful year for the bakery, with brand awareness rapidly growing and national media appearances, including a feature on BBC’s Saturday Kitchen. A dozen new stores are planned to open across the UK over December and January, with hundreds of new bakeries planned for the next five years. Even with this number of stores across Britain, Warrens Bakery still crimps all of its pasties by hand in Cornwall. In addition to its iconic pasties, it has become renowned for its wonderful selection of artisan breads, speciality Cornish delicacies, savouries, scones, cakes and sweet treats. Warrens Bakery places a firm focus on handcrafted skill and innovation. All of its baked goods are made with an enormous amount of care and attention to detail, with many still produced using traditional recipes and techniques. Christmas is always an exciting time at

Warrens Bakery. Previous festive favourites include the much-loved mince pie pasty, and 2018 saw the launch of two new

Christmas-inspired pasties: a three-bird roast pasty, a delightful and delicious play on a popular multi-bird roast using succulent turkey, chicken and duck, and an irresistible Christmas pudding pasty. Throughout 2018 there have been a number of new ranges launched alongside the opening of new stores, including a hot savouries range, pasties and sandwiches with flavours from around the world, and a summer range bursting with classic British cakes. To support its seasonal offering, Warrens Bakery runs an extensive new product development programme and plays a leading role within its industry associations. l
