IN THE LIFE A rewarding day

Richard Metcalfe joined Ovenclean in 2016. Here, he details a typical day, as well as his Ovenclean journey so far…

RIC HARD MET C ALFE

Fra nchisee at Ovenclean

“Prior to being a franchisee, I was a call centre manager/operations manager. My main functions were the day-to-day running of a department of around 100 people. "After being made redundant multiple times

in different jobs, I decided to look into franchising because it guaranteed a job and fi nancial security. It also allowed me to be completely in control of what I do and when I do it.”

8:00AM

“At 8am I’m out of the house to get to my fi rst appointment early. With Ovenclean you meet new people every day, and I really enjoy the social aspect of it.”

9:00AM

“I typically clean three to four ovens daily, depending on the locations of the cleans for that day and the size of the jobs."

2:00PM

"I’m usually fi nished for the day at around 2-3pm. I’m then free to go home and work on the admin side of the business: calling back customers, converting leads that have come in while I’ve been at work, and fi lling up my diary.”

All of Ovenclean’s franchisees benefi t from proven national marketing, comprehensive initial training and ongoing support to help them launch and develop their business. “Ovenclean is a long-established franchise

and offers support from day one. My training consisted of an initial two weeks with my business mentor, who was an existing franchisee. This was, without doubt, vital – you get to see the franchise in operation, the product, and how it is marketing- led. I also undertook a marketing course and have received consistent support from the

business development team at head offi ce.” Ovenclean franchisees also benefi t from a

great work-life balance. Now that Richard’s built a successful business, his next step is growth. “My biggest tool for growth has been focusing

on marketing. As well as the leads from head offi ce, my own free marketing via Facebook, the branded van, leafl ets and local advertising in newspapers have been invaluable. Village fetes, school fetes and other local events have also helped me maintain growth and will hopefully help me sustain it in the future. “At the moment, though, I’m very happy with

how the business is going. To be honest, there’s nothing that I would do differently apart from one thing… I wish I had done it earlier!” l
