ActionCOACH SHWETA JHAJHARIA
Shweta Jhajharia moved to the UK from India in 2007 for a global marketing position in London. Despite this new challenge and being kept very busy with her young son, she was keen to start her own business. In 2008, having recently given up a lucrative career at Unilever, Shweta launched her ActionCOACH franchise. A decade later, she has built a multi-million-pound coaching fi rm based on helping other businesses grow.
“I love that what I do gives me the opport unity to make people's lives happier”
Shweta explains: “Fast forward to 2013, I opened my door to receive a large bouquet of fl owers and a thank you note. A business owner who I had convinced to become a client back in the fi rst months of my franchise had doubled his business. Today, his business, worth £18million, is more than three times the size it was in 2008. “However, it was the note accompanying the fl owers that really surprised me – not
from the business owner but from Lewis, a yardman in his team. The note said: ‘In the last few years, my wife has been able to leave her job to take care of our young daughter and we are fi nally in a position where I don’t have to worry about providing for my family’s basic needs as the sole breadwinner. Thank you for transforming our business.’ That is really when the penny dropped for me and I sat down to redefi ne my business mission – creating better realities through business reeducation.” Shweta has consistently been in the
top three of global coaches at ActionCOACH for the past few years. Her clients consistently achieve stellar results, with growth rates averaging at 41 per cent year on year. In fact, the ActionCOACH fi rm she has built in London now has one of the most awarded client portfolios in ActionCOACH. “Our success refl ects our clients’ success. In the past few years, our business has transformed from £536,000 and 26 clients to £1.4million and 54 clients, while maintaining a consistent 50 to 55 per cent margin. Our team in the same period has doubled to eight people and now includes two employee coaches.”
Shweta was named Woman
Franchisee of the Year at the 2018 Natwest Encouraging Women Into Franchising Awards. Her decade of business growth has prompted women, and men, to join ActionCOACH and follow her example. Now, Shweta and her clients share
their success wider, doing good for others. They have committed to a partnership with the Buy1Give1 project, which identifi es charities from across the world that small companies can contribute to as part of their ongoing business. “I love that what I do gives me an opportunity to work with amazing people and make people’s lives happier.” Shweta has managed all this while maintaining a work-life balance to enjoy time with her husband and 11-year-old son.
