W
ith a career spanning publishing, highways and sales, Action Coach Paul
Limb’s versatile background had him well placed to find success when he set up his own ActionCOACH business in May 2018. Paul’s first exposure to coaching was as
a skydiving instructor, convincing people to take the leap. From falling out of the sky to landing firmly on his feet, ActionCOACH has given Paul the opportunity to grow his own business community in his adopted hometown of Bolton.
“World-class suppo that’s essential to your success”
Upwardly mobile By the early 1990s, Paul joined a Fortune 500 company, becoming sales manager in a global and multinational accounts team. He worked there for about 10 years before moving to a small family firm in Bolton, eventually becoming Managing Director and Co-owner of a division which separated from the main company. “Alongside my professional career, I
was also a qualified skydiving coach and instructor – I think I did around 850 jumps! It was my first interaction with coaching. Working in a high-pressure, extreme sport environment, you always need to be on
top of your game, communicating clearly – it stood me in good stead when I came across ActionCOACH.”
Taking the leap Paul first learned of ActionCOACH after trying to make a connection when running a freelance business consultancy. “I reached out through a mutual friend – who just so happened to be an Action Coach. They recommended I take a look at investing. I started my research and attended BizX in 2018. The conference was the dealbreaker – the great atmosphere there was really impressive to me. It was clear to me ActionCOACH’s systems and strategies worked, producing results for businesses globally for over two decades. “I’d convinced so many people to jump out of a plane, so it was time for me to take my own leap of faith. Business coaching felt like my calling – I’d always wanted to help people and believed I had the necessary professional experience to make a real difference to people’s lives.”
The blue skies of networking A background in sales gave Paul the belief he would be successful following ActionCOACH’s initial training. “After the first day, I felt a little overwhelmed. I remember asking myself if this was the right choice. “However, what became clear pretty
quickly was the world-class support ActionCOACH provides – it’s essential to
your success. I didn’t have the business coaching experience but knew I’d develop those skills in time – thanks to the resources available.”
Free-flying future “April this year was our personal best month, coming off a personal best year – the future is bright. Having the time to do what I want outside of work is important for me. My work-life balance has certainly improved since investing in 2018. I’ve got a plan in place to make sure taking more time out is achievable.” Paul also plays an active role in the
ActionCOACH coaching community, attending as many meetups, coaching clubs and conferences as he can. “I think business ownership can tend to make you feel slightly isolated. However, that has never been the case with ActionCOACH – whether it’s the coaching or client community, you’re surrounded by excellent individuals eager to learn and develop. It’s hard to find a franchise with the same level of support, understanding and desire for you to be successful as you get from ActionCOACH.” If you want to build a business with scalability and longevity, make a difference in your local community and you’re the kind of person who: A) loves learning and developing themselves B) has enjoyed success in their career or sport; and C) is willing to invest if they see substantial rewards can be made…
