And that’s basically a robust, strong business with

strong cashflows and a good track record. Plus, repeat and happy customers – that's always, always going to have a higher relative market value.

What’s the one thing an aspiring entrepreneur should ask themselves before taking the plunge? My belief is, it’s a bit like that saying ‘there’s a book in everybody’ right? Well, there's a business in everybody. A lot of people are capable of running a business, especially if they’re already handling responsibilities, have numbers to look after, a team to manage, etc. What you don't have, though, is the personal financial pressure and a lot of the sacrifices you have to make. So if you're going to start a business, I don't care what

kind of business it is, whether it's a start up or franchise or you even bought a business, you need to run it. You have to understand that it's going to be a lot of hard work. You have to be resilient. Make sure you've got a plan – and make sure you've funded it. And you're going to have to spend many, many days where you have to brush yourself off and get back up and and keep going, - that's the nature of the beast. And that can seem daunting to a lot of people. But, again, the beauty of franchising is that, where

there can be a kind of ‘fog’ in the beginning with a new company, because you have no idea what's going to happen, with a franchise, you already know, broadly speaking that this model works, other people have done it. So you've got more breathing space and you can see a bit further out into the future and hopefully your plans can be slightly more accurate and robust, so in the long run, what you are creating is hopefully freedom – and financial freedom.

But your real current passion is artificial intelligence! Yes! I call on businesses to “automate the mundane!” There's so many things now that you don't have to do yourself, so learn how to use AI, leverage it. Then you can focus on the meaningful stuff that actually adds value to you, your customers and all your stakeholders. Increasingly your human workforce is going to be

augmented with an artificial intelligence workforce. We call them AI agents. Okay, now, so what do AI agents do? They don't replace humans who do jobs – what they do is within that job. So what that means for your workers is that they can then spend their full time on doing the 10 things that actually make a difference and enrich the business. And actually, it means they’re involved in the occupation that drew them to that career in the first place. Nobody wants to do admin, so augment your human workforce with AI agents to allow them to do more meaningful work. What you'll find is they’re happier and therefore less likely to leave. This, and the next, generation of franchisees has a massive opportunity because technology is changing and it's kind of on their side. When you're starting out now, those areas such as sales, marketing, content,

“AI's like watching a ship leaving the harbour, because once it gets so r away, its not coming back! Get on board!”

you’ll have a huge advantage. I'm sure AI is capable of innovation, of all sorts of things that are literally astounding us every day, and give people time to focus on the important things in their business… But engaging with it now is what’s crucial! I liken

the AI revolution to watching a ship leaving the harbour, because once it gets so far away, it's not coming back! Get on board!

We still need people of course! I fervently believe that this technology will empower entrepreneurs who choose to work with franchisors, and that you can augment yourself, not just with

technology, but with support, guidance, and engage with partners that are willing to spend time with you and share their experiences. My advice, normally is to find other entrepreneurs for

guidance and support! They understand where you're coming from can help you look outside the box. It's about having people around you that can be quite honest as well. Franchisors can be those people. 
