ActionCOACH
“How ActionCOACH got me out of a rut” Simon Marshall spent nearly three decades successfully working with several large financial institutions, consultants and advisors in London, being a central player in the acquisition of finance for one of London’s iconic landmarks, The Shard. Despite his success, his appetite for life in the City began to wane, and Simon felt stuck in a rut. After initial success in the City, Simon
was to be instrumental in the acquisition of finance for The Shard – seeing the building now reminds him of the hard work he put in at the time and is something he’s extremely proud of. But he eventually felt stuck in a rut, working long hours, commuting and spending little time with his young family, although he was well paid, Simon just wasn’t feeling fulfilled. Familiar with business coaching, Simon saw it as potentially his next logical destination. “I was ready to startup my own independent coaching firm until I discovered ActionCOACH. They really stood out to me when carrying out my due diligence. I could see there was a proven framework, ensuring if I put the work in, I would see results.”
Building more than just a business community Simon launched his ActionCOACH business in March 2020 and immediately faced with a global pandemic. “My timing couldn’t have been better, right? I knew it was going to be a challenge, but ActionCOACH was excellent with their support to help me get my business off the ground.
Franchise Partner Simon Marshall providing business coaching “I’d been a consultant previously –
advising businesses what to do, but not being involved in how they got from A to B. I wanted the opportunity to work with businesses on their journey to realising their goals. The continuous professional development ActionCOACH provided gave me the confidence to work with businesses working towards their targets – which, for me, is the true value of what a coach does. It’s what keeps me interested and motivated – I’m never standing still, there’s always room to learn and develop my skills.” Offering both one-to-one and
group coaching sessions, Simon has been able to build up a community of entrepreneurs, giving him a lot of personal and professional satisfaction. “One of the things that attracted me to ActionCOACH was the community element. If I’d started my own coaching firm, I think life would have been

pretty lonely at times. The community of coaches is a real bonus, but I really get my enjoyment out of seeing the businesses I coach connect with each other. “ActionCOACH is a team and not just
when it relates to work. Unfortunately, my mother passed away recently and the support and care I received from my clients and community meant a lot to me – it showed me this is so much more than a business transaction.”
