What did you do before franchising? I was working for McDonald's franchise as an Area Manager, overseeing 11 branches, so I had extensive experience in managing multiple locations, ensuring consistent service quality, and driving business growth. Jyoti was a security officer at Heathrow Airport. Over
time we realised that we share the same moral values and outlook on life. This common ground became the foundation of our partnership. Recognising the potential of our combined skills and values, we decided to venture into franchising. Our shared vision and commitment to integrity have been a driving force. We evaluated several franchisors. After thorough
research, it was Caremark's values and ethos that won us over. The passion of Caremark's late founder, Kevin Lewis, particularly resonated with us. We also spoke with friends who were existing Caremark franchise owners and felt confident that we’d receive the support we needed to succeed.
Why were you drawn to the care industry? During the pandemic, I volunteered for a charity, helping provide food and essential supplies to those in need. This rewarding experience made me realise I wanted to be in a business that allowed me to give back to the community. The care industry seemed like the perfect fit, offering the opportunity to earn a living while making a meaningful difference in people's lives. Running a care business is incredibly satisfying. It's heartwarming to see how our

services help individuals in need. Bringing smiles to our customers' faces and knowing that, for some, their care assistants are the only people they see regularly is both saddening and fulfilling. I'm proud that my business can provide the help and companionship they need.
How's business today? What lessons have you learned? We knew from our research that recruitment and retention would be our biggest issue, so we consulted friends in the industry, invested time in learning about sponsorship, and developed a comprehensive plan to address this head-on. Our efforts paid off, and we were able to exceed our initial projections and expectations. With day-to-day challenges –
managing care planning software and other administration – the support from Caremark has been fantastic! I cannot fault a single thing. Assistance comes not only from the Franchise support team but also from fellow franchisees. If we'd launched as an independent without
the support from Caremark, the regulatory challenges from CQC could have forced us to shut down. The support from the Caremark team has been invaluable in overcoming these initial hurdles. The support and structure provided by a well-established franchise like Caremark can make all the difference in successfully starting and running a business.
