The Home Instead team in Richmond celebrate their ‘outstanding’ rating

H

ome Instead Senior Care has been praised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after achieving

its 40th ‘outstanding’ rating. England’s care regulator awarded the accolade to the Richmond upon Thames offi ce, run by franchisee Mike Jefferies; the network outranks all other homecare companies for the top rating in England. Andrea Sutcliffe, CQC’s chief inspector

of adult social care, confi rmed that Home Instead refl ects the values of the commission: “CQC’s work is guided by a simple principle: is this a service I would be happy for anyone I love to use? I’m thrilled that this shines through in so many of Home Instead’s offi ces across the country, and I have a feeling they won’t stop here. “As Home Instead knows, the very best adult social care comes down to fantastic leadership, a transparent and open culture, great support for staff, a desire to

continually improve, and people being at the heart of how safe, person-centred and compassionate care is delivered. Home Instead demonstrates time and time again, it can be done.” Home Instead is very much a values-

based franchise company and over 25 per cent of its offi ces in England have been honoured with the top rating, compared with only 3.3 per cent of adult social care providers overall. Ruth Brown, head of franchise

development at Home Instead Senior Care, says: “The feedback from CQC is the icing on the cake after a year of incredible accolades. To receive this recognition shows that our franchisees are providing excellence in terms of the level of care expected by the commission, while at the same time running thriving and profi table franchise businesses. This gives me a great sense of pride.” l
