SHOW PREVIEW

levels from under £10,000 within the Low- cost Showcase section of the event. The Vehicle-based Showcase presents a

variety of businesses that allow franchisees to get out and about, while a further area of the exhibition is dedicated to high-level investment franchising. The National Franchise Exhibition enjoys a partnership with the sole regulatory body for the UK franchise sector, the British Franchise Association (bfa), meaning that every exhibiting brand has been assessed and accredited by the bfa as running a genuine business format franchise. Pip Wilkins, chief executive of the bfa,

comments: “Franchising offers an optimised route to business ownership for everyone. The opportunities on offer these days are diverse and exciting, allowing enterprising individuals, couples and even families the chance to launch and run a business which supports their work and life goals. “We're pleased to be part of The National

Franchise Exhibition, which offers a platform in Birmingham for the exploration of franchising and support for those taking their next steps." Deciding which franchise to invest in is a crucial one of those steps, but by no means the only one that needs to be taken to become a franchise owner. That is why The National Franchise Exhibition offers a multitude of opportunities to gather advice, both from seminars and workshops and through one-to-one consultations with industry experts. For those new to franchising, the bfa will host a series of seminars on the fundamentals of franchising, while, in other seminar streams, select exhibitors will outline their franchise programmes, plus independent consultancies offer advice on

how to franchise an existing business. Individuals who have already made the leap into franchising will share the stories of how they came to choose their business and what their life looks like now in the bfa Real Franchise Stories panel sessions, with live Q&As. Professional advisers are available throughout the event to consult on a variety of matters including the fi nancial and legal aspects of the franchise process, and for advice on career choices and business planning. Visitors keen to build their skills in

key areas such as sales and marketing will benefi t from attending the Growing Your Own Business Conference, which runs parallel with the exhibition. Free-to- attend, the conference offers a series of presentations, workshops and motivational talks from entrepreneurs and experts in business growth.
