He comments: “I had a whole host of questions prepared for the Dream Doors team at the event, and Alex Waite, their director of franchisee recruitment, was extremely open with me, giving me all the information I needed. “Likewise, Alex asked a lot of searching questions of me, ensuring I was compatible with the business. The conversations we had there really clinched it for me that a franchise with Dream Doors was what I wanted to pursue.”

Dream Doors head offi ce in Gosport. His wife, Kate, who was sceptical of her husband’s plans, attended with him and by the end of the day was so impressed with the level of professionalism she’d seen, that she too wanted to be part of the business. On 1 May 2018, David and Kate became the proud franchisees of Dream Doors Worcester. David comments: “Over the 30 years I’ve worked in business, I’ve received a lot of training, and I can honestly say that the support and training Dream Doors has provided for the launch and operation of our business has been the most intense, professional and enjoyable I have ever experienced. “We’re still in our fi rst year of business and have never worked so hard – but now we’re working for ourselves, enjoying fi nancial reward and the satisfaction of delighting our customers by transforming their kitchens.”

as an option to have his own business and be his own boss. He attended The National


Franchise Exhibition in February 2017 to explore the brands offering franchises. The last stand of the day he visited was that of domiciliary care provider, Radfi eld Home Care. In his discussions with the team


Dave Bellis, a qualified accountant, had thoroughly enjoyed his career with a global petrochemicals company, but by the end of 2016 he knew that he’d be fa cing redundancy.


Dave immediately got a good feel for the franchise that was on offer, recognising that the head offi ce team and founders were very keen for their franchise partners to do well, and that a care franchise would offer him the opportunity to “give something back” to his local community. He also had fi rst-hand experience of home care, due to the needs of his parents. After phone calls and further meetings with the franchisor, Dave was certain this was the franchise for him, and as his employment came to an end in


June 2017, he became the director and owner of the Liverpool North territory of Radfi eld Home Care. Dave comments: “I honestly had a great career prior to this, seeing a lot of the world and working with fantastic colleagues, but working for a corporate plc you really don’t feel you can make a difference. Running a care franchise, I can make a difference on a daily basis, ensuring they get the exact care they need, and I also enjoy nurturing my team of care staff. “The start-up process provided
