With the death of David Goodall in 2018, it became obvious that Exit could help people go to Pegasos in two ways. Firstly, there is a travel companion service. This is where an Exit volunteer may be contracted to accompany you to Switzerland. This person would help with travel arrangements, the paperwork and other details, and go with you on the plane (if necessary).
A second way that Exit is able to assist is by offering an ID service. As explained earlier, under Swiss law every person receiving a VAD must be accompanied by a person who is able to formally identify them after they are gone. As Exit has staff in Europe, it is possible for an Exit Life Member (who has no one to be with them at the end) to have an Exit person perform the ID duty.
The Exit person will, if desired, greet you on your arrival in Switzerland. The ID service is offered free to Life Members of Exit International (ex costs).
