The Sarco COVID-19 has had a major impact on the Sarco project. After a successful six months on display at Venice Design in 2019, in February 2020, Sarco (1.0) moved to Cube Design Museum in the Netherlands. After only two weeks on display, however, the exhibition was suspended due to COVID.
The new Sarco 2.0 machine had been scheduled for use in Switzerland in the Spring of 2020. Although printing is now almost complete, European travel restrictions (due to COVID) mean that the final test trials of the Sarco 2.0 have also had to be temporarily suspended.
This unfortunate delay has meant that for the immediate future those seeking to make use of the Sarco for a ‘stylish and elegant’ Swiss death must wait.
