Feedback seen by Exit shows that the hitherto tiresome, confusing and exhausting application process has been made easy and understandable. As a result, stress levels of applicants have been lowered as the step-by-step process (and the ability to complete the application in stages, saving it each time and finishing it at one’s own pace) has helped even the most Luddite of computer users. This change of modus operandi will, no doubt, be music to the ears of many readers of this book.
Upon completion of an online VAD application, the Pegasos team thoroughly reviews all the documents, and prepares a file for the Pegasos doctor or psychiatrist.
On approval, a mutually-acceptable VAD calendar date will be set. If the person applying suffers from a neurological condition (eg. ALS/ MND, MS etc), the approval process is likely to take around 4 weeks. For all others, (eg. situations of unbearable suffering/ completed life), faster approval times may be possible.
Approval is communicated via email, followed by phone contact with a member of the Pegasos team. The Pegasos team member then acts as the primary contact person for the person and their family/ friends.. He/ she is available both via email and phone.
