Unveiling Crowned Elegance: Hats Fashion & Culture 920 China Hats Festival The 4th Nantong, China 22–24 September 2023
The fourth edition of the 920 China Hats Festival was opened on September 22nd in the park at Foremost
Headwear in Nantong, China. The event was presented with the participation of the China National Garments
Association, local government, and various hat-related
industry representatives from Ecuador, Italy and Japan.
The 920 China Hats Festival was initiated by ‘Hat Bro’ Jeffrey Sun and has been successfully staged three times since its inception in 2014. The latest edition welcomed artists, designers, hat lovers, fashion bloggers, industry luminaries and artisans of intangible cultural heritage along with workers from a variety of locations linked to the event’s ‘model market’ art fair.
First day
On the first day of the event, hat lovers from all over the world gathered together as scheduled and signed their names on specially designed hat-shaped cards to paste on the ‘Hats’ installation wall. This created a unique photo

spot and was a marker for hat lovers to convey the elegance of the occasion. Adding colour to the event were the
accompaniment of violin playing, the appearance of craftsworkers who made traditional straw hats, and the nostalgic presence of vintage cars, not to mention the fashionable headwear worn by the attendees. The guests were able to take in the artistic atmosphere while appreciating the special nature of the location itself. The event was held in a comprehensive cultural park which integrates hat fashion culture and digital technology and serves as a hub for creative research and development, information exchange, exhibitions and displays as well as other activities.
