The Lancashire

Growth Plan 2025 – 2035 Powering innovation to drive economic growth.

Lancashire Combined County Authority (LCCA) has launched a consultation on the county’s Growth Plan at the Convention of the North. You are invited to submit comments via a dedicated email account (lgp@lancashire.gov.uk).

Developed in collaboration with a range of organisations, the Growth Plan aims to set out Lancashire’s growth priorities following the recent establishment of the Lancashire Combined County Authority. The plan outlines strategies for utilising the core government grant to develop robust business cases for various projects and highlights the importance of closer partnership working to drive higher levels of economic growth in the region.

The plan has received strong support from the Lancashire Business Board, an independent group of business experts committed to fostering a more prosperous Lancashire. This consultation is one of the first of its kind in the country, highlighting Lancashire’s

commitment to accelerating growth both locally and nationally. Cllr Phillippa Williamson, leader of Lancashire County Council, stated: “Lancashire is a region of significant scale and economic importance. Our economy is valued at £40 billion, making it the second-largest in the North West, with nearly 55,000 companies and a population of 1.5 million.”

“We are proud to showcase Lancashire’s potential at the Convention of the North, reinforcing our role as a key strategic player in both the North and the UK. The timing of this consultation is ideal, as it coincides with the presence of leaders from business, community, academia, and politics.”
