WHAT MAKES AN INFLUENTIAL WOMAN IN BUSINESS?
By Amy Lancaster-Hall
Group marketing manager for Bowker Motor Group’s prestige franchises of Porsche, BMW, BMW Motorrad, MINI
Every day, we work alongside incredible, influential, women who are shaping the county’s business landscape. But what sets them apart?
In my experience, influential women in business share certain standout qualities. They inspire and empower those around them – not always through direct leadership, but often by example. The way they conduct themselves, the standards they uphold, and how they navigate challenges serve as motivation for their colleagues and peers.
Empathy is another defining trait. Whether leading teams, engaging with customers, or
driving business growth, they consistently put people first. They understand what motivates others and use that insight to foster collaboration and success.
Resilience is also a common thread. These women have strong values, clear visions, and the confidence to advocate for meaningful change in the workplace and beyond. Many are at the forefront of efforts to improve diversity and inclusion, recognising that progress is a shared responsibility.
Our county is home to many other women making a lasting impact and flying the flag for women in business.
