Founded in 2008, Strongdor makes a range of standard and bespoke steel doors including fire exits, security-rated doors and acoustic doors. The manufacturer saw its turnover rise 36 per cent from £17.45m to £23.86m.
Slingco designs, manufactures, supplies and installs cables and overhead lines for the oil and gas, transmission and utility markets. The company also produces the Cablenet platform system used in theatres, opera houses, studios and schools. Sales increased from £28.4m to £33.8m following the launch of new products.

This family business was founded in 1872 by Robert Shaw in Silverdale. Today the company operates from a purpose-built coach and travel centre and, with more than 100 vehicles, it provides daily excursions, short breaks, UK and continental tours, educational, corporate and tailor made group travel services. Sales were £23.95m with pre-tax profit of £5.01m.

NGJ develops commercial and residential properties which it either sells on or lets out. It also operates a steel erecting subsidiary and owns several investment properties for developing and letting. Turnover was £5.16m.

Wyder specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of engineered timber products for the construction industry. Driven by growth in the new-build housing sector, revenues increased from £15.1m to £16.6m and pre-tax profits werefrom £4.5m.
